AETHIOPIA, æ, ein Beynamen der Diana, welchen sie nach einigen von einer kleinen Landschaft in Lydien hat, woselbst sie verehret wurde, nach andern aber, weil sie sich ehedem in Aethiopien befunden, und von da von dem Apollo weggeführet worden; nach den dritten von αἴθω, ich brenne, weil sie so viel, als der Mond sey, oder auch die Hecate bedeute, welche sich nach einigen der Fackeln mit bediene.
