TEMPESTAS, átis, das Ungewitter, wurde von den Römern göttlich verehret, und zwar hatte ihr L. Scipio einen besondern Tempel gelobet, als er in der See bey Corsica einen schweren Sturm erlitt. Ovid. Fast. l. VI. v. 193. & ad eum Heins. l. c. Andere wollen, es sey M. Marcellus Stifter desselben gewesen. Neap. ad eum l. c. & Gyrald. Synt. I. p. 59. Wenigstens stund er in der I Region der Stadt, und zwar vor dem capenischen Thore an der appischen Straße. Neapol. l. c. & Nardin. l. III. c. 2. Man pflegete ihr ordentlicher Weise ein schwarzes Lamm zu opfern. Virg. Aen. III. v. 210. & ad eum Serv. & Cerda l. c.
