Dodonides

DODONĬDES, waren Nymphen, und zwar des Melisseus Töchter, welche den Jupiter in seiner ersten Kindheit sollen erzogen haben, und dafür von ihm hernach mit unter die Sterne gesetzet worden, woselbst sie denn die Hyaden in dem Stiere seyn sollen. Hygin. Fab. 182. Andere machen sie zu des Bacchus Ammen, Didym. ad Homer. Il. Σ v. 486. noch andere zugleich zu Priesterinnen in dem Hayne des Jupiters zu Dodona, Philostr. Icon. L. II. n. 34. p. 859. daher sie auch den Namen haben sollen. Gyrald. Synt. V. p. 176.
