CYMODOCÉA, æ, eine der Nymphen, in welche des Aeneas Schiffe verwandelt wurden, als die Rutuler sie verbrennen wollten. Sie schried selbst diese Verwandelung der Ceres zu, weil sie aus Fichten von ihrem geheiligten Berge Ida genommen waren. Virgil. Aen. X. v. 225. Sie wird vor andern Doctissma genannt, weil sie das Schiff des beredten Ilioneus gewesen war. Serv. & Cerda ad eumd. l. c.
