COMMOTIAE, arum, ein Beynamen der Nymphen, die sich an dem kutiliensischen See aufhielten. Weil nun in solchem eine Insel war, die sich bewegete, so haben diese vermeynten Göttinnen den Namen daher von commoveo, ich bewege, bekommen. Varro de L. L. lib. IV. c. 10.
